
October 28, 2011 (Chinavestor) Following footsteps of China Unicom (NYSE:CHU), China's largest fixed line carrier reported 2011 Q3 numbers. China Telecom (NYSE:CHA) reported revenues of RMB182,357 million for the first nine months of the year, an increase of 11.8% YoY. Net income came out to RMB13859 million, an increase of 10.1% YoY.
But the numbers fell short of expectations. The third quarter was particularly weak with revenues and earnings below that of previous quarter. The stock is down 6% by noon on Friday.
